Visual Studio 2010 has an Excellent Install story

Uninstalling and installing Beta 1 and Beta 2 of Visual Studio 2010 was a breeze. No fear of dragons here!

I remember the times when installations of just about anything could suddenly crash or hang. That dreaded rollback of an installation where you had to helplessly watch when the installation pulled itself back out of your machine still gives me the creeps.

Yesterday I uninstalled Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1… and it was a snap. SNAP!

Just to be sure I rebooted my machine. Don’t think I really would have needed to.

Then I installed Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2… and it was a snap. SNAP!

Please notice the snazzy new logo for the studio. Guess everything has to be Azure these days?

After validating that the little darling actually ran real well all I can say is that THIS WORKS FINE! There is no need to fear your stuff will break when you uninstall and reinstall the Betas of Visual Studio 2010.

And when the environment starts up I can help but feel how fresh it feels…

It's the strangest thing. It took just about half an hour on my machine but I've heard others who have spent a couple of hours installing.
