The Information Card Foundation (ICF) is here - informationcard.net

One of my idols is keeping up his good work by being one of the founders of The Information Card Foundation. I just wanted to put this news out there and give it some praise and a couple of well deserved cheers! Just to get you pumped to read on at the site and get excited about this here are a few lines I cut from there:

"The Information Card Foundation is a group of thoughtful designers, architects, and companies who want to make the digital world easier for you by building better products that help you get control of your personal information." So who are they? Well Kim is on the Board of Directors of ICF along with several noteworthy names and on the business end the support group is Equifax, Google, Microsoft, Novell, Oracle, and PayPal. This is not a small group of just anybody!

Finally here are a few lines (also from the site to save me from wording an explanation already carefully drafted and written down:

"The market is ready for Information Cards.  As the Internet has become the foundation for our digital lives, it is necessary to create a way to present yourself in a way that is as safe or safer than the way you do in the physical world. Digital information is extremely fluid. Personal information taken out of context can be extremely dangerous.

On the Internet, no one knows you're a dog, and that's the problem. You have to try to prove you are you by broadcasting more and more personal data. And sites demand more to protect themselves.

But, if you can wield claims others make about you, and provide these claims in a way that is trusted by those with whom you do business or conduct social activities, you would not have to reveal so much data, and companies could avoid the liability associated with storing it.

Information Cards provide a way to minimize distributing your personal data while lowering business liability."

Today is a good day!

Cheers,

/Magnus

P.S. I'll be on holiday for the next few weeks to blogging will be sparse.
